Museum Accepting Street Fair Entries, Sponsorships
Planning is underway for the 2011 Street Fair, so mark your calendar for September 24! The Smoky Hill Museum will be accepting parade entries, corner pantry vendor applications and sponsorships throughout August.
Last year’s changes had a positive impact and will continue into this year’s event, including two entertainment stages, expanded hours, more activities and a street dance.
The parade will kick off the event at 10 a.m (on Santa Fe from Elm to the Masonic Temple)., followed by more fun, food, and festivities in and around the museum. Back for an encore is the Army National Guard’s climbing wall, inflatables and the Corner Pantry. New this year is a mini golf course run by the Friends of the Museum. The event will conclude with a street dance from 7-9 p.m.
There is no cost to attend this day of celebration with music, participatory crafts and activities, historic demonstrators, parade, vendors, and other related events like the Salina Journal’s Chili Cook-Off contest.
